Even though Laurie's daughter has procrastinated with this site, she does tend towards posting on the socials and then she realized not everyone is on the Facebook or Instagram. On November 11th, 2023, Laurie's granddaughter Harlow Beatrice Kate turned 10. One of the things she asked for was a Ouija board. I remember being a similar age messing around with friends in a cobwebbed basement trying to reach those in the great beyond so not that odd of a request, right? My mother-in-law purchased one for her big day and the first thing out of her adorable mouth was "now I can talk to Gramma!". Harlow and her Gramma shared a special bond. Not sure if it's because my daughter was Laurie's twin from birth to age 6 or because my Mom was super-excited about the karma that would soon be visited upon her favorite daughter but, they loved each other so SO much. I think in a lot of ways Harlow is still processing the loss and it's difficult for her. She lost her Pop'on (Ron) only the year prior and then to lose her Gramma is too much. So I hope the frequency of the Ouija board is strong enough so they can chat but not strong enough so that my kid starts telling me what Gramma says I should be doing about this or that. (It's ok though because the Ouija board lives at her dad's house so HE can deal with the advice from the great beyond) 😂
Sensitive, pensive, and funny, that's Harlow. You could see the love and pride your Mom had in Harlow from many feet away in a room. It's wildly endearing and creative that Harlow can have some form of communication with her grandma through the ouija board and various means!
