It's been two years since I received that call from my brother. This past week all my Facebook memories are filled with my 'LoLo updates' from December 2022. I remember typing those out, double checking my grammar just in case, and feeling very freaking lost. I still do. I'm nearing my 50th birthday (!) and I am still my mother's child. I still have her on my shoulder whispering 'really Kristin?!' on a weekly basis. Some of you may remember when Laurie worked at that bookstore in Sarasota - please tell us the name as Scott and I cannot remember - and she bought this shirt that said Eat. Sleep. Read. and I absolutely love that shirt. I sleep in it often and when I recently was tattooed on my wrist, some of the ink leeched on the front. I thought 'no problem, I've got all sorts of household chemicals that'll get this out' and yeah, no dice. Now, Sue Ellis says Laurie would be upset about the tattoo part BUT guess who got me my VERY FIRST tattoo as a high school graduation gift? It definitely wasn't Frank! So, I can't get the spots out, I've got an email into Indie Bound to see if they can help and if anyone out there knows how to get tattoo ink out of a white shirt, hit me up. I'm very sad. To be continued...............................

Can’t remember what the bookstore was called and it didn’t manage to last after their star bookseller left!
Laurie absolutely loved working there and I still have a couple of her pre launch editions she would acquire!
I do miss Laurie, there are so many days when something happens and I know she would appreciate the subtle humour ( has a u in England) or sympathise ( has an s in England) and yes paranoid about my grammar!
I am now Grandma to gorgeous 2 year old Joesph and understand a little more why she wanted to try and spend so much time with her precious Grandbabies. She would be so proud of them all now.
